There is a cost to continue supporting multiple versions of software in market, and newer versions include more advanced built-in features. After 10 years, we recommend customers move to the current versions for the most advanced security and cost/performance benefits, in addition to getting regular security updates.

Extended support for Dynamics AX 2009 Service Pack 1 (SP1), Dynamics AX 2012, and Dynamics AX 2012 R2 ends on April 12, 2022. Mainstream support for Dynamics AX 2012 R3 continues through January 10, 2023. Microsoft will continue making security hotfixes, non-security hotfixes, and regulatory updates for Dynamics AX 2012 R3 throughout the extended support period ending on January 10, 2023. As per the policy, after the end of the Extended Support period there will be no patches or security updates, which may cause security and compliance issues and expose customers’ applications and business to potential security risks.
